Auto-Resize Images in Composer

Sometimes, when you upload an image in Composer, it may not meet the aspect ratio required by a platform (for example, Instagram). Instead of editing it outside, you can use the Auto-resize option directly inside Composer.

How to Auto-Resize Images in Composer

Follow these steps to fix image aspect ratio issues directly inside Composer:

  1. 1 Go to Composer and select the accounts you want to publish on (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X).
  2. 2 Upload your image(s).
  3. 3 If any image doesn’t meet a platform’s requirements, you’ll see a red error badge on the thumbnail and an error message in the footer, both with an Auto-resize option.

  1. 4 Click on Auto-resize, select the required aspect ratio (1:1, 3:4, 4:5, 1.91:1), and continue

  1. 5 If you upload multiple images and only some of them don’t meet the platform’s requirements, you’ll see error badges on those specific images. Valid images remain unchanged and ready to post.
  2. 6 When you choose Auto-resize in the footer, you’ll get the option to fix just the selected image, or apply resizing to all other faulty images in one go. This saves time by correcting multiple issues at once, while valid images are left untouched.

💡 Tip: You don’t need to resize all your images — only the ones with issues will be adjusted. Valid images stay exactly as they are.

Multi-platform resizing behavior

When publishing to multiple platforms, auto-resize will only adjust the image for the platform(s) that require it. For example, if you select both Facebook and Instagram but the image only violates Instagram’s aspect ratio, resizing will be applied only to Instagram.

The post will automatically switch to Customize mode so each platform keeps its correct version.

FAQs

1. Do I need to resize every image I upload?
No, only the images that don’t meet a platform’s aspect ratio will need resizing. All valid images stay unchanged.

2. Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes, if several images have issues, you’ll get an option to resize them all together in one go.

3. Will resizing affect the quality of my images?
No, resizing only adjusts the dimensions to fit the platform’s requirements. The quality of your images stays the same.

4. What happens after I resize an image?
The resized image automatically replaces the faulty one for the required platforms, while the original version is kept for others.

5. Can I undo the resize?
No, once an image is resized, the change is applied to that post. However, your original image file outside Composer is never affected.
