How to get YouTube Data API Key

In order to use Videos to Social Automation Recipe using YouTube, you'd need to add the YouTube Data API key first. Following below steps you can retrieve and add the YouTube Data API Key:

Creating Project in Google Cloud

Navigate to the URL https://console.cloud.google.com. Once you are on the page, you will see the option to either select a new project if you have already created one. Like in the below example:

By clicking on the Project name in our case it is "ContentStudio", you will see the option to create a "New Project".

Click on the "New Project" button on the top right side of the screen that you see. After that you will see the screen to create a project. Below is an example.

Click on the Create button and your project will be created.

Creating an API Key

After creating your Project, now you need to generate the new API key. Next, search for "YouTube Data API" in the Cloud Search bar that you will see in the top navigation bar.

Press enter and you will see the results from which you need to click on the YouTube Data API v3.

Click on it, and after that you will see the Youtube Data API v3 page.

Click on "Enable" button. After a couple of minutes, you will see the "Manage" button once it is enabled against your account.

Now, click on Manage button, then click on the Credentials tab on the left side.

Click on "Create Credentials" on the top navigation bar that you see. Select the type "API Key"

Once done, you will see you the API key credentials. Copy this key and we will use this in our next step.

Adding API Key in ContentStudio

Next, log in to ContentStudio and then click on the Profile icon and select "Other Integrations"

Once done, go to the bottom of the page and you will see the YouTube Data API key option where you can add your Key.

Add your Key and click on the Update button.  Once you see the success message, now you can create the Videos to Social or Videos to Blog automation recipe by selecting YouTube.
