How to add Alt Text to an image?

Are you having difficulty understanding or visualizing an Image on social media platforms? Interested in providing details about an image along with your Content, but can't because of the word limit?

We've introduced new features that allow you to add extra details to your images. These are perfect for visually impaired users and anyone wanting to provide more context. Let's dig in!


How to do it?

  1. On the dashboard, click Compose.

  1. Select the social media account(s), and click Media Library to add media from your library.


  1. The selected image(s) will appear under the Text Box. Click on the middle icon to Add Media Description/ALT text. A wizard will appear. Enter information in the text area.

  1. You can also Write with AI.

  1. Once the text is written, you can also Improve with AI.

Note: The Alt Button is only available for the profile that published the post. Viewers need an Alt Text Extension to use the Alt Text Feature.

  1. You can choose when to publish and whether to repeat the post. Click on the Post Now button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  1. You will be redirected to the Planner page, and the Notification will appear in the right corner of the screen, as shown in the image.

  1. You can also verify your post by scrolling down on the screen under the Status column.

Q1: Can I add Alt Text to videos or GIFs?

A: Currently, Alt Text can only be added to static images.

Q2: Will the Alt Text be visible to everyone on the platform?

A: No, Alt Text is primarily used by screen readers and accessibility tools. It’s not typically displayed alongside the image unless a browser extension or accessibility setting makes it visible.

Q3: Can I add Alt Text after a post is published?

A: No, Alt Text must be added before publishing the post. If you forget to add it, you’ll need to edit or delete and recreate the post
