Accessing YouTube Analytics

Step 1: Navigate to Analyze from the dashboard.

Step 2: Go to "Social Analytics," then click "YouTube" in the left panel. This opens up your YouTube analytics dashboard.

Once you're in the YouTube Analytics section, you'll notice two main tabs to explore: the Overview Tab and the Posts Tab.

Overview Tab

Here, you get a high-level snapshot of your YouTube performance. The Overview Tab provides key metrics and trends at a glance.

  • Your first YouTube account is selected by default, but you can select any from the dropdown if you have multiple channels.

  • Select a date range to analyze; the default is the past 30 days. Predefined ranges are also available for quick selection.

1. Overview Cards

As you explore the YouTube Analytics dashboard, you'll see several informative cards packed with essential data about your YouTube account. Each card contains:

  • Total count

  • Net increase or decrease as compared to the previous time period

  • Percentage rate of change as compared to the previous time period

N/A: means that the data is not available.

Following are the key metrics offered by ContentStudio

  • Subscribers: The total number of people who subscribed to your YouTube channel up to the end of the selected time period.

  • Videos: The total number of videos published on your YouTube channel during the selected time period.

  • Video Views: The total number of times your videos have been watched during the selected period, regardless of publication date.

  • Watch Time: The total amount of time, in minutes, viewers have spent watching videos on your YouTube channel during the selected time period, regardless of their publication date.

  • Average View Duration: The average amount of time, in seconds, viewers spent watching videos on your YouTube channel during the selected time period, regardless of their publication date.

  • Engagements: The total number of engagement actions (likes, dislikes, comments, shares) received on all the posts during the selected time period, regardless of publication date.

  • Likes: The total number of likes received during the selected time period on all the posts, regardless of publication date.

  • Dislikes: The total number of dislikes received during the selected time period on all the posts, regardless of publication date.

  • Shares: The total number of times posts, regardless of publication date, have been forwarded to others or shared on different platforms during the selected time period.

  • Comments: The total number of comments left by viewers on all posts during the selected time period, regardless of their publication date.

2. Subscribers Trend Graph

The graph has two views:

  1. Cumulative Subscribers Trend: The graph examines the overall growth or decline in YouTube Subscribers over time, aggregating daily changes to show a running total throughout the selected time period.

  2. Daily Subscribers Change: This graph shows the number of new subscribers gained or lost on each specific day during the selected time period.

  • X-Axis: Date range

  • Y-Axis: Number of subscribers

For more detailed view, you can expand graph using the expand icon on the top right corner of each graph and also can Zoom in and out for more detailed view.

3. Daily Engagement Activity Graph

Inspect the daily engagement metrics (likes, dislikes, comments, and shares) received daily during the selected period, regardless of the post-publication date.

  • X-Axis: Date range

  • Y-Axis: Number of Engagements

4. Daily Video Views Graph

Analyze the daily video views received during the selected time period, regardless of the post-publication date.

  • X-Axis: Date range

  • Y-Axis: Number of Video Views

5. Daily Posting Pattern

Assess the relationship between your daily posting frequency and subsequent engagement metrics over the selected time period.

This graph provides valuable insights into the impact of your posting frequency on key engagement metrics such as likes, comments, and shares. On the left side of the graph, it displays the number of videos, and on the right side, the total number of cumulative engagements, including all the likes, dislikes, comments, and shares.

This graph shows the correlation between your daily posting frequency and the video views received during the selected period.

  • X-Axis: Date range

  • Y-Axis: Number of Videos and Engagements

6. Daily Watch Time

Analyze the total amount of time, in minutes, viewers have spent watching videos on your YouTube channel each day during the selected time period, regardless of the post-publication date.

  • X-Axis: Date range

  • Y-Axis: Number of Engagements

7. How Viewers Find Your Videos

Explore how viewers discover your videos across different platforms, including YouTube searches, suggested videos, external websites, playlists, and more, during the selected time period.

8. Video Sharing Services

Track the number of times viewers shared your videos on external platforms and social media networks during the selected time period.

6. Top and Least Performing Posts

This section showcases the most engaging and least engaging videos by engagements and views, published within the selected time period, providing a quick snapshot of your account's performance dynamics.

Posts Tab

Now, let's swing over to the Posts Tab. This is where the minor details live. Here, you can dissect the performance of individual posts. View each video's engagements, likes, dislikes, comments, and shares separately. You can also sort the data in ascending and descending order using these metrics (engagements, likes, dislikes, comments, shares, etc. ).

Save and Analyze Your YouTube Analytics

The Export button in the analytics dashboard provides a convenient way to extract and save your analytics data for further analysis or reporting.

You can download a file containing a detailed breakdown of your YouTube performance metrics by clicking on the export button. You can:

  • Send PDF

  • Schedule PDF
