Accessing Pinterest Analytics

Step 1: Navigate to Analyze from the dashboard.

Step 2: Go to "Social Analytics," then click "Pinterest" in the left panel. This opens up your Pinterest analytics dashboard.

💡 Keep in Mind

  • To use Pinterest analytics, it is recommended to reconnect your Pinterest account.
  • Upon connecting your Pinterest account, ContentStudio starts gathering metrics and insights, which are displayed after a single refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R).
    • If there are multiple tasks in the queue, the refresh might take a few minutes for the data to be fetched.

Limitations:

  1. Data may be up to 2 days old due to API limitations.
  2. Data is displayed according to your workspace's time zone.
  3. Data processing runs every 24 hours for timely updates.

Analytics Dashboard

Once you're in the Pinterest Analytics section, you'll notice there are two main tabs to explore: the Overview Tab and the Pins Tab.

Overview Tab

Here, you get a high-level snapshot of your Pinterest performance. The Overview Tab provides key metrics and trends at a glance.

  • Your first Pinterest profile is selected by default, but if you have multiple profiles, you can select any of them from the dropdown. Further, you can select to view specific boards or all boards.
  • Select a date range to analyze; the default is the past 30 days. Predefined ranges are also available for quick selection.

Overview Cards

As you explore the Pinterest Analytics dashboard, you'll see several informative cards, each packed with essential data about your Pinterest account. Each card contains:

  • Total count
  • Net increase or decrease as compared to previous time period
  • Percentage rate of change as compared to previous time periods


N/A: means that the data is not available.


Following are the key metrics offered by ContentStudio

  • Followers: The total number of people who have followed your Pinterest Board up to the end of the selected time period
  • Impressions: The total number of times your pins have been displayed on users' screens during the selected time period, regardless of the pins publication date.
  • Engagements: The total number of engagement actions (pin clicks, outbound clicks, saves) received during the selected time period, on all the pins regardless of their publication date.
  • Clicks: The total number of times users have clicked on your pins to view them, during the selected time period, regardless of the pins publication date.
  • Outbound Clicks: The total number of times users have clicked during the selected time period, on your pins to visit the linked website, regardless of the pins publication date.
  • Saves: The total number of times users have pinned or saved your pins to their boards, during the selected time period, regardless of the pins publication date.

Followers Trend Graph

The graph has two views:

  1. Cumulative Followers Trend: The graph helps to examine the overall growth or decline in your Pinterest followers over time, aggregating daily changes to show a running total, throughout the selected time period.
  2. Daily Followers Gained: This graph helps to inspect the number of new followers gained on each specific day during the selected time period.
  • X-Axis: Date range
  • Y-Axis: Number of followers

For more detailed view, you can expand graph using the expand icon on the top right corner of each graph and also can Zoom in and out for more detailed view.

Daily Impressions over time

Analyze day-to-day impressions received during the selected time period, regardless of the pin publication date.

  • X-Axis: Date range
  • Y-Axis: Number of Impressions

Daily Engagement Activity

Inspect the day-to-day engagement metrics (pin clicks, outbound clicks, and saves) received each day during the selected time period, regardless of the post-publication date.

  • X-Axis: Date range
  • Y-Axis: Number of Engagements

Analysis vs Daily Posting Pattern

Assess the relationship between your daily posting frequency and subsequent engagement metrics over the selected time period.

Engagements

This graph provides valuable information to evaluate the correlation between your daily posting frequency during the selected time period and the resulting engagement metrics, including pin clicks, outbound clicks and saves.

Video Views

This graph helps to evaluate the correlation between your daily posting frequency during the selected time period, and the resulting pin impressions received.


  • X-Axis: Date range
  • Y-Axis: Number of Engagements and Impressions

The checkboxes at the top right corner of the graph allow you to filter it for image and video analytics.

Top and Least Performing Pins

This section showcases the most engaging and least engaging pins by impressions, engagements, pin clicks, outbound clicks and saves , published within the selected time period, providing a quick snapshot of your profile's performance dynamics.

Pins Tab

Now, let's swing over to the Pins Tab. This is where the minor details live. Here, you can dissect the performance of individual pins. View engagements, impressions, and clicks on each pin separately. You can also sort the data in ascending and descending order using these metrics.


By clicking on the pin, you can view more engagement details:

Save and Analyze Your Pinterest Analytics

The Export button in the analytics dashboard provides a convenient way to extract and save your analytics data for further analysis or reporting.

By clicking on the export button, you can download a file containing a detailed breakdown of your Pinterest performance metrics. You can:

  • Export as PDF
  • Send PDF
  • Schedule PDF
