Instagram Analytics📈 provides valuable insights into your Instagram content performance, measures your growth over time, and identifies the most engaging posts. Let's examine what Instagram Analytics has in store for you.

Accessing Instagram Analytics

Step 1: Navigate to Analyze from the dashboard.

Step 2: Go to "Social Analytics," then click "Instagram" in the left panel. This opens up your Instagram analytics dashboard.


Analytics Dashboard

Once you're in the Instagram Analytics section, you'll notice three main tabs to explore: the Overview Tab, the Demographics Tab, and the Posts Tab.

Overview Tab

Here, you get a high-level snapshot of your Instagram performance. The Overview Tab provides key metrics and trends at a glance.

  • Your first Instagram account is selected by default, but you can select any from the dropdown if you have multiple pages.
  • Select a date range to analyze; the default is the past 30 days. Predefined ranges are also available for quick selection.

Instagram Page Performance Summary

As you explore the Instagram Analytics dashboard, you'll see several informative cards packed with essential data about your Instagram account. Each card contains:

  • Total count
  • Net increase or decrease as compared to the previous time period
  • Percentage rate of change as compared to previous time periods

N/A: means that the data is not available.


View your key profile performance metrics from the reporting period.

  • Followers: Total number of people who follow your account.
  • Profile Views: Total number of profile views.
  • Total Engagement: The number of times people have engaged with your posts through likes, comments, shares, and clicks.
  • Total Impressions: The number of times people saw your posts.
  • Comments: The number of comments on the posts.
  • Saved Posts: The number of posts saved by the people.
  • Total Reactions: The total number of reactions to the posts.
  • Total Reach: The total number of reach on the posts.

Instagram Audience Growth

Instagram Audience Growth reveals the number of audiences gained during the selected period.


Audience Growth Rollup

Audience Growth Rollup has a percentage value with an up or down arrow, indicating the change (growth or decline) compared to the previous period of the same length.

Instagram Publishing Behaviour

Instagram publishing behavior lets you view the different types of posts you published during the selected time period.


Publishing Behaviour by Content Type

In the right section, you can see the overall total of each publishing type metric, such as:

  • Total Posts: The total number of posts published
  • Image Posts: The total number of image posts
  • Video Posts: The total number of video posts
  • Carousel Posts: The total number of carousel posts
  • Reels: The total number of reels posted.

Instagram Top Posts

Instagram top posts let you review your top posts published during the selected time period based on the post’s lifetime performance.

Instagram Active Users

The graph lets you review your active users as of the last day of the reporting period.

  • Active Users by Hours - It shows the number of active fans at each hour of the day.
  • Active Users by Days - It shows the number of active fans on each day of the week.

Instagram Hashtags

You can review your hashtag performance.

  • Most used hashtags: You can view the most used hashtags.
  • Top Hashtags by Lifetime Engagements: You can also view the top hashtags by lifetime engagements.

Instagram Impressions

The graph lets you review how the Instagram community saw your content during the reporting period.

Impressions Rollup

In the right section, you can see the overall total of each impressions metric, such as:

  • Impressions: The total number of impressions
  • Average Impressions: The total number of average impressions

Instagram Engagement

Using this graph, you can see how people engage with your posts during the reporting period.

Engagements Rollup

In the right section, you can see the overall total of each engagement metrics, such as:

  • Total Posts Engagement: The total engagements on the posts.
  • Average Engagement: The total average engagements on the posts.
  • Posts Comments: The total post comments.
  • Posts Reactions: The total reactions on posts.

Instagram Reels Performance

Instagram reel performance lets you view how your reels posted during the selected period are performing regarding watch time, shares, and engagement.

  • Engagement: The total number of engagements on reels.
  • Watch Time (sec): The total amount of watch time on reels.
  • Shares: The total number of shared reels.

Reels Rollup

In the right section, you can see the overall total of each reel performance metric, such as:

  • Total Reels: See how many reels have been posted within the selected time period.
  • Total Time Watched (sec): This shows the cumulative watch time of your reels posted within the selected time period.
  • Avg. Time Watched (sec): See your reels' average watch time per play, posted within the selected time period.
  • Shares: See how often your reels, posted within the selected time period, were shared.
  • Engagement: See how the community engaged with your reels posted within the selected time period.

Instagram Stories Performance

The Instagram Stories performance graph lets you review how people reacted to stories you published during a selected date range.


Stories Rollup

In the right section, you can see the overall stories rollup metrics, such as:

  • Story Reply Count: The total number of replies on stories.
  • Story Tap Backs Count: The total number of tap-backs on stories.
  • Story Tap Forwards Count: The total number of forwards on stories.
  • Story Tap Exits Count: The total number of exits on stories.
  • Total Story Reach: The total number of reach on stories.
  • Total Story Impressions: The total number of impressions on the stories.
  • Avg Story Impressions: The total average impressions on the stories.


Demographics Tab

The Demographics 📊 tab within your analytics dashboard displays information on your audience demographics, such as age, gender, and location, helping you tailor content to your key audience.

💡 Keep in Mind

  • If your Instagram account has more than 100 Fans, audience demographics will be shown; otherwise, no data will be shown.

The demographics tab shows your top audience by gender and age, as well as your top location.

Audience by Age

Audience by Age shows you your fans' breakdown by age in the selected period. Loading bars represent different age ranges and show how many fans belong to each range. The total number of fans in each range is also written before the range numbers.

Audience by Gender

Audience by Gendershows you the breakdown of your fans by their gender in the selected time period. You can see a pie chart comprising 3 colored segments:

  • Purple - Representing the Male Count
  • Green - Representing the Female Count
  • Yellow - Representing the Unspecified Count

Hover your mouse over a segment of the pie chart to see the percentage of each gender. The total count of each gender is displayed below the chart. To focus on a specific gender, click on the others below the chart to hide their segments.

Below both sections, you will see the Leading force among your fans based on the highest gender and age values.


Audience by Top Countries & Cities

  • Audience Top Countries section shows you the Top 10 countries where your fans are located, with the total number of fans from each country listed separately.
  • Audience Top Cities section shows you the Top 10 cities where your fans are located, with the total number of fans from each city listed separately.

Posts Tab

The "Posts" tab displays the posts that received the most Engagements and Impressions during the selected period.

For Instagram:

We list the Top 5 performing Instagram posts for the selected period, but you can change this and filter it by:

  • Top 10
  • Top 15

For each of the listed Instagram top posts, we also show its top metrics:

  • Engagements
  • Likes 
  • Comments

You can click on each post to get a detailed view of it with more metrics.

Clicking on a post will open a pop-up window showing a Preview of that post with below statistics:

  • Total Engagements
  • Saves
  • Reactions
  • Comments

📝Important

Your top post's image may not display if the selected time range is too long (e.g., last 1-2 years). This usually happens due to a token expiry.

Save and analyze your Instagram metrics

The Export button in the analytics dashboard provides a convenient way to extract and save your analytics data for further analysis or reporting.

You can download a file containing a detailed breakdown of your TikTok performance metrics by clicking on the export button. You can:

  • Export as PDF
  • Send PDF
  • Schedule PDF
