Managing default locations for Facebook & Instagram accounts

ContentStudio introduces seamless location management for Facebook and Instagram. This feature lets you:

  • Assign default locations to your social accounts for consistent tagging.
  • Fetch and customize these locations effortlessly while composing posts.

Assigning default locations in social account settings


  1. Navigate to Social Accounts Settings
    • Open the Social Accounts section in ContentStudio settings.

  1. Access Default Location Option
    • Click the three dots next to a Facebook or Instagram account.
    • Select the Default Location option.

  1. Search for a Default Location
    • A pop-up will appear with a search bar.
    • Enter the Page ID or Location Name to find the desired location.
    • From the search results, select the desired location.
    • Click Save to bind the location to the default account.

The selected default location will now display under the Location header for the account.

Fetching default locations while composing a post

  1. Access the Composer
    • Open the ContentStudio app and navigate to Compose -> Social Post.

  1. Select Social Accounts
    • Choose multiple Facebook and/or Instagram accounts for posting.
    • Upon selecting accounts, the Location icon will become enabled.

  1. Open the Add Location Pop-Up
    • Click the Location icon, and an Add Location pop-up will appear.
  2. Default Locations
    • If you have selected two accounts(Facebook and Instagram), the default locations for all selected accounts will be displayed next to each account's name.

  1. Remove or Modify Locations
    • Click the "x" icon next to a default location to remove it.
    • Search for a new location using the search bar.
  2. Customize Locations for Each Platform

Uncheck the "Customize location for each platform" checkbox:

      • It will clear default locations for all accounts.
      • It will enable a single search bar to assign one location to all selected accounts.

Check the box again: It will restore the default locations for each account.

  1. Preview and Save Locations
    • After selecting the desired location(s), click Save.
    • The locations will appear in the preview section next to the corresponding social accounts.

After publishing, each post will be tagged with the respective location for the selected social accounts.


FAQs

Q1: Can I assign one default location to multiple accounts at once?

A: You can assign one location to all selected accounts by unchecking the "Customize location for each platform" checkbox.

Q2: What happens if I don’t set a default location?

A: The location field will appear empty during post-composition, allowing you to assign one manually.

Q3: Can I remove a previously assigned default location?

A: To remove it, click the "x" icon next to the location in the settings or post-composition.

Q4: Can I preview selected locations before posting?

A: All selected locations appear in the preview section next to the associated accounts before posting.
