Publishing to the Facebook group via mobile app notification method


Due to Meta discontinuing (from 22nd April 2024), the API for Facebook Groups, direct publishing through ContentStudio is no longer available.

For the solution, we have worked around introducing "Publishing to Facebook groups via push notifications through the Content Studio mobile app," which offers a streamlined method for sharing efficiently.

This guide outlines the steps for this feature.

Are Facebook groups already connected? Install ContentStudio Mobile app

You do not need to reconnect if you have already connected the Facebook group to ContentStudio. However, you may need to install the ContentStudio Mobile app (iOS/Android) to receive push notifications and continue publishing.

Connect the new Facebook group to ContentStudio

  1. Head to ContentStudio account
  2. Navigate to "Social accounts"
  3. Click "Add Facebook Group"

  1. Add a Group Name, Upload a picture, and click Add.

✅Tip

  • It is recommended that you use the same name and profile picture as your Facebook group for better identification when posting via push notifications.
  • Be sure to install the ContentStudio app to use this feature.

The Facebook group is successfully connected to ContentStudio

Create a new post for a Facebook group via mobile app push notifications

Once you have connected the Facebook group to ContentStudio, here comes the step to post to ContentStudio.

  1. Go to ContentStudio
  2. Navigate to Compose-> Social Post

  1. Select the Facebook group you want to share your post
  2. Compose a post and click on your desired posting schedule

By this step, you have completed the initial part of the scheduling process with the semi-automated system. Next, you will get a push notification from the ContentStudio mobile app informing you that your post is ready to publish.

🤞Keep in mind

  • To complete this step, ensure all notifications are turned on from the ContentStudio App.

Depending on the posting schedule, you will receive a push notification on your mobile app. Click on that notification to be redirected to the ContentStudio app.

✅Make sure to log in to the correct Facebook account.

When you are redirected to the Facebook app:

Depending on your device, the media or text will be pasted accordingly. The different scenarios are:

When you tap the notification:

  1. The post preview will open. Tap on the "Post Now"
  2. Go to the menu on the Facebook app and click "Groups."
  3. Select the desired group, then manually paste the caption.
  4. The media will be saved in your device's library and needs to be manually added to the post.
  5. Set the Post privacy settings.
  6. Tap on "Post."

Push notification on ContentStudio mobile app (Android)

When you tap the notification:

  1. The post preview will open. Tap on the "Post Now"
  2. On the Facebook app, A window will appear, asking you to choose where to share the media.
  3. Tap "Facebook Group," select the specific group you want, and the media will be automatically added when the app opens. You have to add the text manually.
  4. Set the Post settings.
  5. Tap on "Post"


Voila !! You have successfully posted on your Facebook group. 💥

  1. Will the Facebook group in ContentStudio be linked to my original Facebook group?
  • The Facebook API no longer allows data fetching, so the groups are not directly linked. You'll manually manage your posts using the ContentStudio and Facebook apps.
